Every Shoe You Should Own Over the Age of 60
As we grow older and reach our elder years you might think that it’s time to quit wearing heels, put away those fancy ankle boots and opt for the more sensible option. This shouldn’t be the case!
We should wear what we want and what makes us feel good, so today we’re here to give our low-down on the five types of shoe that you need to own over the age of 60.
A Sassy Heel
For those special occasions or events, such as birthdays, meals out, weddings and christenings. A pair of sexy but sensible heels is perfect to compliment an outfit for such occasions. You’re never too old for a heel, whatever heel height you feel comfortable with is best.
You might opt for a kitten heel, or perhaps a wedge. Whatever you’re taste we think at least one pair of heels should be in every woman’s wardrobe. For places to shop there’s a whole host of stores, such as Office, and Clarks.
Some Nice Winter Boots
A must have for those winter months! When it’s cold outsie an ankle boot, or over the knee boot is perfect. Worn with jeans and a long boyfriend coat, it’s the perfect look for any age.
Better yet, a good ankle boot can be comfy and warm so it’s worthwhile doing some shopping around. With heeled and flat Chelsea styles available you’re sure to find a pair this winter you’ll love.
Casual Flats
For those days when you’re just pottering about, going out shopping and general day to day activities. A comfy casual flat is a staple and with styles galore from loafers, to pumps you can almost certainly find a pair that will suit your style both on the high street and online. Our favourite destinations are Asos and New Look.
A Fancy Flat
In contrast to the causal flat, we also think a fancy flat is needed for those times when you’re heading somewhere a little nicer, perhaps lunch or dinner out or meeting up with friends etc.
With suede, leather and fancy jewel encrusted styles there’s no shortage of this type of shoe! And just because it’s a little more fancy doesn’t mean the price has to be too – by comparing prices online you can find the best deals.
Walking Shoes
Last but not least our final must have shoe is a walking one! Whether it be a walking boot or a trainers, these are important for when you go out exploring and walking. There’s nothing worse than going on vacation or long treks and the wrong footwear is being worn!
This can result in blisters, saw feet and also back pain. Some great places to look for walking footwear include. JD Sports and Go Outdoors.
Comfortable outdoors and at home
It’s important to feel comfortable on your feet as we age and wear the right type of shoe. If you feel like you need help in the home and are at risk of falls invest in a Careline alarm.
Careline alarms are emergency personal alarms that can be activated in the event of an emergency if you live at home alone. Our pendants also work outside in the garden.
