Today is the BBC’s Children in Need, when people across the country raise and donate money to a variety of charities through a huge TV event. We here at Careline365 bring you several ways to raise money for this great cause each year!
Bake Sale
This is what we did for Children in Need this year here at the Careline offices. It’s a delicious way to raise money. Get everyone you know to bake their speciality, or, if they don’t have one, to have a crack at a bun.
You can either advertise in your neighbourhood or organise one at your office. There’s an added layer of friendly competition to the latter, as everyone samples each other’s efforts and compares their cooking skills in a lower budget bake-off.
Sponsorship
In the age of the internet, this one has gained more and more traction. There are now sites that allow you to set up a page for donations.
There are a whole plethora of things you can do. You can go down the humorous route of dying your hair or doing a fun run dressed as a marine animal, or you can opt for physical exertion by promising to climb a mountain or complete a lengthy cycle. Whatever suits you, people will be happy to show their support!
Junk Sale
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, as the old idiom goes. Turn the former into the latter by collecting together all the knicks and knacks in your house that you no longer need or use. Advertise in your neighbourhood, and bargain hunters are bound to come hunting said bargains.
Auction
But not just any auction. Auction off actions you or friends could perform for the winning bidder. Agree to cook them a meal, draw them a picture, do their laundry for a week,
Any good deed you think people might like can be put up and bid upon. It’s a nice way to raise money without actually having to get your hands on a mint condition ming vase.
If you’ve had a go at any of the above (or if you might try one next year) let us know on our Facebook page!
